I use performance and graphic forms as a way of navigating and responding to the world. I am a collector and manipulator of signs and messages, incorporating visual and textual fragments into an overcoded vocabulary. They are taken from a globalized environment and mindset that is so loaded with signs and references, that meaning is constantly disintegrating or reforming around deracinated forms.

I am interested in the interpretive relationship between thought and experience; how concept structures function pragmatically and can transcend subjectivity. My practice concerns ambiguity and narrative paradox; How can we communicate and move forward without succumbing to constructs? How do we negotiate with other systems of thought and semiosis? How too can we acknowledge fantasy and obscurity? -DC
